Let's talk about Cardiac Tamponade. This is one of many complications from an aortic dissection. I (Shaun Nicosia) had this complication. The Drs actually knew that I had cardiac tamponade before they were even sure that I had a dissection. The blood from my dissection was collecting in the pericardium, basically suffocating my heart. What's this got to do with Thinking Aorta?? Well they knew I had fluid build up, but where was it coming from? My Dr. thought...aorta.
